The “Luigi Fantini” Museum in Monterenzio documents the history of settlement in the Idice and Zena valleys and displays the material recovered since the 1980s during the excavation campaigns at the Etruscan-Celtic settlement of Monte Bibele.

The exhibition, which holds the most complete collection of Celtic material in the region and one of the most important in Italy, is enhanced by a full-scale reconstruction of the timber framework of a house from the settlement of Pianella di Monte Savino, furnished with original objects or reproductions that illustrate many aspects of daily life in the village.
Born of close collaboration between the Municipality of Monterenzio and archaeologists from the University of Bologna, the Museum hosts research and museum-education laboratories of the Department of History, Cultures and Civilisations, including a classroom specially equipped for school educational activities.
The Museum complements its functions with the archaeological area of Monte Bibele (settlement, necropolis, sanctuaries), which is the subject of an enhancement programme as part of a new archaeological and nature park project.
